Doing all things DANCE
Matt started dancing at 9 years old with Rhythm & Shoes Dance Studio. A competition dance studio in Northwest Arkansas. By senior year of high-school, he had competed everything from solos to large groups in a wide range of styles including hip-hop, tap, jazz, and contemporary/lyrical. He is also technically trained in ballet which has served to develop a strong solid foundation of technique within his dancing. Additionally, he danced with HAR-BER High School’s dance team, the Silver Stars, his senior year of high school.
Since then, Matt has since traveled to Fort Collins, Colorado, where he spent four years pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. During this time, he was introduced to various practices of modern dance, a style that is now one of his personal favorites. He choreographed for CSU’s Fall 2022 Dance Concert as a student choreographer and staged further work for CSU’s Spring 2025 Dance Capstone Concert as a capstone choreographer.
While pursuing his degree in dance, he also found his way into production and also has a journalism minor concentrated in music, stage and sports production. He’s been fortunate to have experiences with live-stream video production, video editing, audio, theatre production, and lighting. On top of all this, Matt found his way through the CSU Hip-Hop Dance Club. A club that he eventually rose to the rank of Vice President & Financial Officer for during his junior year, and later rising to President his senior year.
About to graduate from CSU, Matt is eagerly awaiting what’s next…
